Teacher
My name is Christi Gell and I am Director of and teacher at crescendo family music classes. I grew up in Houston, and my husband, Charlie, and our two children have lived in The Heights since 1996.
I am actually a geologist by training, but have loved music ever since my dad gave me a Tchaikovsky record and my mom gave me a Beach Boys cassette tape as a young child. I started playing the piano when I was six and then switched to flute when I hit middle school and never looked back. While I’ve been classically trained, I love trying to improvise to some of my favorite jazz flute musicians, I’ve sung and played in a rock band, and just love making music in general.
I got introduced to Music Together® in 2010 when I started classes with my daughter. I was immediately smitten with the program and decided I enjoyed the music so much that I wanted to bring that same love and joy in music to other families.
I spend my free time playing with my two kids, officiating girls lacrosse, and playing flute in the Houston Pride Band.
