Classes

Classes are 45-minutes long and include songs, rhythms, movement, and instrument play. These are informal, non-performance-oriented activities and are developmentally appropriate for children and easy for their caregivers and parents to do regardless of their own musical ability.

Each semester families receive as part of their tuition two professionally recorded CDs, a songbook, a family sing-along/concert with musicians, makeup class, and a parent education event (to learn about the Music Together® philosophy and the importance of music in childhood learning and development).

All classes are at Nia Moves, 508 Pecore St. Houston, TX  77009.

MONDAY CLASSES – 6:15PM

You know how hot it is in the summer. And how the mosquitoes like to attack us at dusk. So instead of trying to figure out what to do with the kids at home, why not feed them, dress them for bed, then bring them to music class in their PJs (if they want to) for a nice end to the day with crescendo family music?! Even though we’ll still dance around, we will make sure that we do smaller and calmer movements towards the end of the class so the kids are ready to hit the sack when they get home.

July 1,15, 22, 29 (no class July 8)
August 12 (no class August 5)

 

SATURDAY classes – 8:45AM
Get the day started on a musical note by singing and dancing with crescendo family music! We’ll be done by 9:30am and you will have the rest of the day to play and explore more of what our eclectic and international city has to offer.
 
Saturday class dates:
June 29
July 13, 20, 27, 29 (no class July 6)
August 10 (no class August 3)

 

“Formal” Makeups: August 17, 8:45am and August 19, 6:15pm. Families can arrange to attend other classes as makeups during the semester providing there is space.
Note: class size is limited to 12 students.

 

Tuition is $150. Siblings older than 8 months old are $125 each. Siblings younger than 8 months old on June 24 are FREE. Tuition includes 2 CDs, a songbook, a parent education event, and a family sing-along concert with local musicians.
